Privacy policy

Effective 9 October 2026. This policy covers alexsceramics.com, run by alex roth ceramics in Los Angeles, California.

What we collect

When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, and what you bought.
When you pay: payment is taken on a page run by Stripe. Your card or bank details go to Stripe and never reach this website or the studio. We receive confirmation that you paid, the amount, and any tax and discount.
When you write to us: the name, email address and message you send through the contact, commission or trade forms.
When you join the newsletter or a waitlist: your email address.
When you visit: the company that hosts this site keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and browser type.

How it is used

To make, pack and ship your order, and to contact you about it.
To answer your questions and requests.
To keep the sales and tax records the law requires.
To email you about new work and drops, only if you signed up. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Only the companies needed to run the shop, and only what each one needs:

Stripe — takes payment and calculates sales tax.
Shippo and the carrier (such as UPS or USPS) — receive your name and address to price, label and deliver your parcel.
Vercel and Neon — host this website and its order database.
Google — provides the studio’s email.
Klaviyo — holds the newsletter and waitlist list and sends those emails, only for people who signed up.

If the studio adds a service for customer records or bookkeeping, it will be listed here. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and your browser

This site does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Your cart and a few display preferences are saved in your own browser so they are still there when you come back; they are not sent anywhere until you check out. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page to process payments and prevent fraud.

Your choices

Ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below. We reply within 30 days.
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after a deletion request; everything else is removed.
Unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link in any email, or by writing to us.

California residents have these rights under state law, and we will not treat you differently for using them. This site is not directed at children under 13.
